Douglas Therapy believes that appropriate, low cost and affordable counselling should be available to everyone including those on low income & limited means.
I currently offer an initial assessment consultation of 1.5 hours (90 minutes) for £30, this is a chance to help you decide if counselling or psychotherapy is for you and whether you would like to work with me. During the assessment, you will be asked how you will fund counselling. Douglas Therapy may ask for proof of your situation.
You are expected to pay a fee that is appropriate to your situation, and also in consideration of the fact that I am still working towards accreditation. In addition to Continual Profession Development. The fee is £45.00, concessions are available for students and individuals on a low income.
I currently offer private sessions in Birmingham from Tuesday to Saturday
10.00 am – 7 pm (Birmingham)
9.00 am – 7 pm
Saturday Mornings and Afternoons (Birmingham only)

Cancellation and Missed Appointments
Douglas Therapy considers any appointment that you have made with him, important. Your appointment is for your exclusive use and when it is cancelled with short notice or missed altogether, it is often too late or impossible to offer this time to someone else, and the appointment time goes unfilled.
Please note, that the following cancellation / missed appointment policy is in effect:
- A full 48 hours notice is required for cancelling appointments.
- Cancellations with less than 48hrs notice before your appointment time will be billed for the full cost of their scheduled session – i.e., £45.00
- If you are uncertain when your next appointment is, please contact Douglas Therapy.
